A lot of people ask us how do our magnetic photo cards work. People are so used to seeing those flimsy business card style magnets and think that they have to settle for a low quality, 2″ x 3″ magnet for their event. That’s where we come in.

First of all, every one of our 1st birthday invitations, save the date magnets, photo birth announcements, baby shower invitations, and bridal shower invitations are hand designed by an actual artist. We color correct, enhance, and crop each photo by hand to make sure that the quality of your special invitation is the best it can be.

We then use a very high quality 100# announcement cardstock and use a high end digital printing process to print each and every card. Our production team sometimes runs an individual order through the press 3 times, making necessary adjustments, to make sure the quality is the best we can get.

After the photo cards are printed, they are then run through a process which laminates a 1 inch magnetic strip to the top back of each card. The magnetic strips are specially desined to be extremely thin, yet have a lot of magnetic holding power. These special strips allow our photo cards to be displayed on the fridge, file cabinet, school locker, in a photo album, frame, or scrapbook. In fact, there are no other photo announcements in the world currently like ours.

Visit our testimonials page and listen to what our customers have said, unsolicited, about us. It is our extreme desire that your experience with us will be one that will make the announcing of your special event a memorable one!

One of the biggest questions we get is how long can I wait in order to send out my photo birth announcements? Believe it or not, you can actually send out your announcements too soon! What…too soon? Let us explain.

Just like when you first met the love of your life, those first two weeks spent together are not lived in reality. You are so head over heels for your new love that no matter what they do, you find them beautiful, charming, and exciting. The same holds true with your new baby.

The miracle of birth and welcoming your baby into the world is such a rewarding experience, that for the first week or two, you are on cloud nine. That’s why the hospital is so quick to bring the “photo booth” into your hospital room because they know that no matter what the baby looks like, you’re on such a high (and completely exhausted), that you are almost guaranteed to buy those generic hospital photos.

Now, in our years of designing custom photo birth announcements, we’ve seen a few ‘hours old’ babies that were ‘magazine cover quality’, but the vast majority of the photo shots that are taken when the baby is only hours old are …well…not so pretty. Lets face it. After all that precious little baby has to go through to get into this world, they aren’t exactly ready for a Madison Avenue photo shoot. You should preserve those first few moments with your point and shoot camera, but those early moments are for the scrapbook you build for your child.

Announcing your baby to the world is another story. You want your precious little baby to have on his or best look and capture the personality of your baby. And from experience, your baby sleeps for most of the first two weeks, so we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before you start snapping those pictures that will eventually end up on your birth announcement. For excellent photo tips, click on this photo tips link and you’ll be on your way to taking great photos!
